The Alter Knight football team will be taking on the cross town rivals the Carroll Patriots this Friday. The Knights and the Patriots have been rivals since the schools have been built. This is mostly due to the fact that the schools are very close in distance. The schools are also built almost the exact same, just mirror opposites of each other.
The Knights come into this game with a 6-1 record. The Patriots have a losing 2-4 record and are the only team in the GCL to have a overall losing record. The Knights have be honest by saying that they are already looking past this game and onto next weeks game which is against Fenwick.
The Knight offense is starting to work and run like a well oiled machine. This fact can be seen in their last game score against McNick. The Knights ended up beating the Rockets 51-20. The Knights ended up taking the starters out at half time and put the JV in, who also did a wonderful job and scored against the starting Rockets’ defense.
The Knight offense lost a starting running back to a bad concussion. Senior Captain and offense leader Alex Salatin suffered a bad concussion in practice last Tuesday. It is still unclear if Alex will be able to come back and play the rest of the tear for the Knights. It is a shame to see a great player end his Senior year early.
The Knight’s defense is destroying teams and have been holding teams to a limited number of points. This is mostly due to the fact that the Knights have a mostly senior and experienced defense. The defense is lead by Senior Captains John Manfreda and Tim Seidfert. The Knights defense is one of the best in the region, maybe in the state.
The Knights are looking to get a top four spot in the playoffs so that they can have a home game. To secure this top four spot the Knights are going to need to win the last three games of the season.
Make sure that you come out and see you Alter Knights football team take on the Carroll Patriots this Friday the 17th of October at Fairmont Stadium. This is senior night so make sure you come out and support the seniors as the regular season comes to a close.
